Sanjaya crashes SNL - Makes People Cry!
Okay, well I think alot of people are going overboard with this Sanjaya thing. I think it's pretty cool to have someone of a different race / culture representing and getting to the top 10 on American Idol. I think it says alot about how diverse America is. However, you can't help but laugh at this. I see the point alot of people are making, that the only reason he's still around is because of people like Howard Stern and Vote for the worst website. Thus, keeping him in there is just taking a shot away from a more talented singer. Well to that I say, IT IS AMERICAN IDOL - it's not the Grammy's. I'm sorry but Taylor Hicks is not Whitney Houston. This show is about making money and I think the IDOL Fanatics are going way to far. I think one girl is starving herself until he is voted off - well - I remember see'ing the video that she put up and all I can say is that a little diet wouldn't hurt you.
It's a sad day - DEATH OF 1.5 MILLION DOLLAR ENZO :(
Look closely at that guy behind the barrier - it doesn't even seem like he flinches. I dont like to do conspiracy theories over every little thing, but could it be something created to promote a movie? Either way, GIMME THAT ENZO!
State of hip hop .....

Well, we know it's been said and then said again....HIP HOP is DYING or DEAD. Everyone that is not into the current state of hip hop will definately moan and groan about how hip hop died in the mid 90's etc. Others will start bringing up obscure underground artists and say listen to them, they are real HIP HOP! Well, we say hip hop is not dead but definately struggling.
Hip hop has become a very important element in clubs and not only for urban nights but for mixed international nights as well. If you don't overanalyze song content to an excessive degree, hip hop is probably one of the best types of music to dance to. We are far from saying that we think house, rock, 80s, or international music isn't danceable but hip hop is top 40 and what do people want when they are twisted - TOP 40!
Any DJ will tell you, they are sick of playing the same top 40 hip hop crap and they wish they could play this or that. The thing is, when they break into this or that - you get 20 requests for the same top 40 hip hop song you just played less then a hour ago.
Hip Hop in the late 80's and mid 90's was something special and I believe that it has lost its way, well to a degree. It has become a sort of bravado music where most rappers rap to let you know how hardcore they are, how much drugs they can push, or how many girls they slept with. The thing is, hip hop started as a party type of music with the Sugar Hill Gang and to this day, most of the hip hop that comes out can still rock a party.
Overall, I am not a big fan of hip hop these days but there are definately some albums I buy and listen to. Alot of the type of hip hop I like now can't be played in a club. However, If I step back and see hip hop as a form of club entertainment, then I realize that it's not dead because people still want to dance to it. I think the best club nights are when they mix hip hop, with some house, international, 80's and just mash it all together.
Overall, Hip Hop will definately need a makeover though because everything that becomes saturated eventually dies out - look at the down spiral of true rock.

Georgetown - Final 4 Baby!
That's right, its pure Hoya Saxa madness! Georgetown is back in the final four, and could possibly get a championship, which has eluded them since 1984! A few years back we had Maryland win the National Championship and College Park (Route 1) went crazy! Well, it looks like G-town is taking over M Street as seen in this clip. I heard it was just a celebration and nothing got too damaged. We are routing for the Hoyas to win it all this year! CONGRATS G-TOWN!
United Way - Manning on SNL
Now, we are die hard REDSKINS fans for life!!! But this is something that we found extremely funny. I think SNL has become stale for the past couple years, but with the JT appearance and now the Manning performance, it may be making a comeback.

Something about nightlife attracts young adults all across America and beyond. Searching for the right spot to head to on a weekend, a happy hour after work, or even a hotspot during the week - is something that many of us do. If it means heading to class or work with a hangover, well, thats just a hit you have to take while young. Of course for that week you will be saying how you will never do this type of thing again, but we all know you will (even you know you will). So what is it about the nightlife that attracts us?
Well, of course you got men looking for hot women, and women looking for hot men or men looking for hot men and women looking for hot women...it really doesn’t matter - you get the point. You also most likely got the type of music you like being played (or trying to be played), you got some alcohol, and hopefully a nice venue and crowd.....but is there more...should there be more?
Some of my friends who have become older, have said their days in the club scene are truly done. They feel like no matter where they go, it’s just the same party over and over again. Some may think they are being cynical, some may think that they are totally right. Even some people may think they are totally right but...umm....who cares, a night out is what you make it.
I think what attracts people to go out is the desire (to put it simply) to do SOMETHING. You need a reason to dress up, to get your hair done, and basically look good. You may need that hope of possibly finding that right person for the night or more. You want to be seen and you want to see people. You want to have some drinks and let loose. You want to dance to some hot music or you want to lounge around and just relax. Hell, you might of had a hard week at school, work or whatever - it’s time to go out - and you can’t do much of what I said staying at home and watching ________ (wow, I don’t even know what comes on Friday or Saturday nights anymore - not good).
Also, I don’t think it matters where you are from in the world, I think recreation will always be a part of life. In the ancient days of Rome, people did party quite a bit. Of course the more money and safety the country you live in has, the more you are going to go out.
I advocate going out and trying new things (not that it matters). I think people who feel like going out has become the same mundane thing need to change some plans and shake it up a bit. Even my friends who have become cynical still don’t sit at home, they have retired to bars and live performances and probably get more trashed then when they last visited a hip lounge or club.
To sum it all up - YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE SO TAKE ADVANTAGE (unless you believe in reincarnation, in which case, you have plenty of time to party!).
